As an English major in college, it was not uncommon for me to sit down the night before a paper was due and begin putting my thoughts down. Not because I was a procrastinator (not usually, at least) but because I wrote better when I let my ideas percolate in my brain for awhile.
Consequently, I have already written at least 4 blog posts in my mind :) Yet, now that I am sitting in front of the computer, with the "Compose" screen lying intimidatingly blank in front of me, I have Writer's Block.
Actually, it is Writer's Fear.
- What if people think my writing is dumb?
- What if people expect me to be funny?
- What if people expect me to be interesting?
- What if there are grammar and spelling errors?
I will happily entertain a list of topical suggestions. Is there anything you'd like me to write about fair readers? I always aim to please.

Whatever you write is always marvelous because of your style, so I don't think you could go wrong on the topic. Just write about whatever you are thinking about at the time. Post pictures, too. Or maybe talk about happenings at work. I mean, come on, the poop in the library story would be a great one. Most people's blogs are a hodgepodge, anyway.
And I totally relate to your grammar/spelling trepidation, but I finally had to just let it go, because in case you didn't know this already, my brain is being eaten by my pregnancy hormones. I can't even remember to put a coat on, much less where to put a comma or whether or not something qualifies as a dangling participle. I gave up being too much of a stickler. So far, no one has told me I am a complete idiot. :)
let the topical ideas percolate a bit in my brain...Glad you are setting aside the dislike to journal though (for that is what this really is) because we all would love to hear about you and your interesting stories!
I'm so excited you started a blog! I have to say, secretly I've been waiting! As an English major also, I know all about writing a paper the night before. It's not like I haven't written it 5 times in my head already, right? I can't wait to read!
I love it and am so excited that you have become a blogger!
Hope that you had a great thanksgiving!

I think you should write about the funny things the students say. It would be entertaining and one day when you get ready to write a book about your life as an educator, you'll have all those stories saved.
Of course, you could also write about how your Mom is way cool...
LOL sounds like me. Wouldnt it be much easier if you could transfer the already-written-in-the-head posts to the computer?? :)
